Do you Hulu?

Hulu made an appearance in our home in December when we moved into a new apartment. We bought a Roku and began subscribing to begin our watching! At first were a bit disappointed to give up DirecTV, but we quickly realized we could watch TV for hours! On that note, here's my top ten reasons Hulu is not to be missed!  

1. Cost

This subscription service is EXTREMELY low cost. It's a whole whopping $7.99 a month an you can cancel at any time! no contract! The best part is gift certificates are available and make great gifts for prevent from family!

2. Fun shows

There really is so much out there to entertain us, but Hulu offers a great backlog of full seasons of so many shows. It also allows you to discover new shows that can offer a ton of variety and fun. Here's some favorites that are sure to entertain:

3. Pausing TV

One of the modern conveniences while watching TV is to be able to pause while watching! Along with satellite providers, Hulu makes this possible as well! Watching TV shows in segments is possible with this feature! It also helps people like me who may only have 15 minutes to watch a show and then more time later! I often watch a little and then come back and watch the rest of the show later!

4. Minimal commercials

Now here's the thing, ALL commercials are annoying, but with recorded TV you have to fast forward through them which takes as much time as watching 2-3 short commercial breaks. This actually means I can get up and go grab a snack, take a potty break, or check my email real quick during the commercial breaks instead of holding the remote to zoom past all the commercials. It's nice to have a breather instead of having to be glued to the remote!

5. New shows

Hulu has truly introduced me to some shows that I don't think I would have found without it! Here are some of my finds that I have enjoyed:

Another I have watched that i can't find a good clip for is Ready For Love, Mistresses, and many others! Check 'em out on Hulu! 

6. New interface

The interface on Hulu recently changed and I LOVE IT! It has so many new features and it is organized in a much better way! Previously it was difficult to figure out what shows had been viewed and which shows were or were not in queue. Now there are progress bars on the little images for each episode and it is organized by movies, TV shows, previews, and clips. There's even a section of recommended shows and shows that you watch! It's so nice to know hulu knows me!

7. Continuous play back

This feature is great, especially when marathoning shows! I used to be frustrated with the fact that I'd have to put whatever I was doing down to start the next show (especially if I was playing a bunch of episodes in the background!). Now, there's continuous playback, which starts the next episode when the one you are watching ends! But don't worry, if you don't want to have this feature, it is easily turned off!

8. Watch on several devices

This is quite common these days, but you can watch on you computer, phone, smart tv, Apple TV, Roku, or tablet! It's really quite convenient and I imagine would be great for vacations, entertaining children, and taking entertainment really anywhere with you!

9. Watch old favorites

The show Cheers has been off the air for quite sometime, but with Hulu, you can catch up, replay or even start watching the show from the beginning. And the best part is that Cheers is not the only show that this is possible for! There's a whole bunch! Summers don't have to be so boring and folding laundry with the TV on can be made fun again!

10. Recommended shows

I mentioned this above, but it truly is a great part of Hulu! I am so glad that Hulu suggests shows based on your watching practices before! I have found several shows is way recently and I love catching one that I really wouldn't have found without the recommendation! Try it, you may like it!

Eventually, my hubs and i will make our way back to the huge bill just so we can watch sports again! We do miss a good baseball game on every night! 

Is if Fall Yet?

Ok so this is random... it's completely random that i was planning and putting together a post that had to do with my Fall TV line up and then I discovered that Linny, Em, and Sarah all had that planned out for me for Random Thursday! 

Glad they did because i would have only got as far as researching it, especially since it is like still 100+ degrees out! It definitely doesn't feel like Fall unless there is new TV to watch. But anyway, there are so many clips, articles, behind the scenes videos, and more for so many new shows! I would have seriously gotten distracted enough to possibly skip the post! So here they are in a very specific order... well except within each category.

OK so i am starting at the bottom.... here's the list of shows i might catch here or there. Not sure if they will be clogging up my DVR just yet, but who knows, one or two may spark my interest for a season or two!

OK so that is a lot fo TV... I admit i am kind of a junkie when it comes to fall season premieres. I can rememebr as early as junior high trying to figure out what we were gonna watch and learning all about new shows from THE NEWSPAPER! Yep, that's right folks, before the internet had all the info you could possibly find!

Blogging While Waiting & TAG!!!

What a Saturday! The Dump Run we had at church today was so worth it! For me it was a great time offer my service to people within our church and for my husband it was a great time for him to serve the community! What fun was that!? So now i am waiting to go and pick up the hubs at the church.... I can't make my sweetie walk home! So here I am. Blogging while waiting! 

(ok so for the record this post has taken all afternoon... I obviously got interupted  sidetracked by having to pick up the hubby! Its ok though... I love him!)

So here are the questions the beautiful Beverly asked of me.... 

1.  What high school did you graduate from?I went to Tustin High School in Tustin, California. We were the Tillers. No one ever knows what that is. They are farmers, so overalls were constantly being worn in high school. (Tho i cannot even remember if i owned a pair in high school!) I graduated in 98 and boy does that seem like a long time ago!!! 
2.  What's the most exciting post you have done to date?Well, my post on Stuffed Peppers was a TOTALLY exciting post. I had 399 page views in an extremely short amount of time and that was just exhilarating. (My average is usually much MUCH lower!) I also really truly enjoyed writing about my breakfast sandwiches. I love those warm little things and sharing them was pretty cool! 
3.  Who is your blog-bestie?Not sure i have one yet, but Jami over at Somewhat Domesticated is a good personal friend of mine and her little blog (tho on a short hiatus) rocks! I miss ya Jami! 
4.  What would you do for the rest of your life (if money wasn't an issue)?I would be a mom. I want kids and truly don't want to have to work. I love teaching, but i can't wait to teach my own about life and so much more! 
5.  Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?Hidden talent? Hmm... well I have been really into cardio kickboxing for the last 8 1/2 years. I have a pretty decent round house kick. (We don't fight against people but we do use bags on Saturdays!) 
6.  Do you have any dogs? If so, POST a pic!No puppies. No cats. Do my students count?!? Someday we will have paws in the house ... just not now. 
7.  What's the first blog you started reading (like daily)?I began reading Tunstall's Teaching Tidbits daily but truly had so many other blogs that i followed as well at the same time. My list of blogs grows all the time. I am addicted to reading about all sorts of stuff from teaching, cooking, crafting, families, wine, and there's just so much to read! Love it!! 
8. Who's your celebrity crush?Hmm. I enjoy entertainment, but i would not say i have a favorite celebrity. During the days of Good Will Hunting I loved Matt Damon, but since then not so much. When it comes to movies I usually just go and see what looks good. 
9.  What show MUST you watch (or else your week falls apart)?Its a guilty pleasure but when The Bachelor or The Bachelorette are in season. I must watch that show every week! Love it! I also watch The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Southland, and Parenthood (which i just spent two hours watching and crying along with! Man, I love that show and to date it seems to be the longest and most accurate representation of asperger's syndrome). 
10.  Do you have any brothers and/or sisters?Yes! I have one successful sister who lives in London, England with her boyfriend! They are both dedicated to being awesome professionals and even just bought a flat together about a year ago! I don't say it enough but i truly am so proud of her!!! 
11.  What inspires you? This is an easy one. There are a few things that inspire me. Here's a bulleted list

• My Husband - when the going gets tough and i feel like giving up, he is always there to give me a nudge in the right direction. He is my best friend, encourager, love, and the one i can't wait to tell everything to! He is pretty darn cool and he makes me laugh ALL the time! 
• My students - gosh, this year i have such a rough bunch, but truly i see little successes every day and that makes me want to come back and do it again the next day. Its been tough lately. I can't share much about the details but my little ones have my heart and often it aches for these little ones. So i love to see their little successes whether it be academic, socially, or behaviorally! 
• The Lord - I know i am about to sound like a televangelist (or maybe the blogger-vangelist!) but truly this is why i have the heart that i do. He is truly the one who inspires me. He changes me and is molding me on a daily basis. He is who i pray to through out the HECTIC day and who gives me strength and courage to move on, endure, or whatever it may be. Underneath it all, HE is there.
