Fall Tea Treat

In California we are blessed with several Trader Joe's locations!
If you are not familiar with this great grocery store, be sure to try it any time you are near one! It is not to be missed! There are the standard veggies, fruits, meats, cheeses, and so much more at every location!

Since it is Fall, the stores have been inundated with all things pumpkin! So many people get so excited about this and i am definitely not excluded from this. I, however, do not get all that excited about things like the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, because i am really not a coffee drinker! I am very much a tea drinker. Now, you say, why would i mention the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte and Trader Joe's within the same paragraph? Well, i am merely establishing the fact that Fall has come, pumpkin flavored items are in abundance and while i usually avoid everyone's beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte, i have invariably found my substitute! Trader Joe's has come out with this yumminess this year:

Have you tried this stuff yet?
What is your favorite Fall treat?

The book club i joined met for the first time and it turns out I am not the only one disliking the book we are reading. However, talking about it helped us all! I think we figured out some stuff which will help us trudge on. We also picked out our next book which is motivation to finish as well! Here's what we picked for our next book:
Has anyone read this? I want to hear if you liked it or not!  Leave some comment love!

My Grafico is the awesome website which helped me out by using some of their freebies!!! Thanks to that site, i have a cute little yearbook page to turn in tomorrow. Sorry, i can't and won't post the finished product. I used the rulers as clip art and the diagonal stripped digital paper as a background to some pretty great pictures of kids that look cute! The title read "Rulers of Room 14"! I am truly pleased with how it turned out!

Last but definitely not least, my weight loss progress! I have lost a total of 12.2 lbs as of Thursday morning! I am so excited about this! I already have a pair of capris that i need to retire because they are a bit too big. <3

OK those were my highlights from the week.... how about yours?

A Little Brown Box

Ugh... OK so I lied this week... call me guilty. I apologize for not truly returning to the blogging world. But let me say this, boy, oh boy how i have missed making my little posts. Nothing is wrong, just have had a crazy couple of weeks! I guess that's what i get for taking two days off!

So here's what my husband dug out of our mailbox the night we got back from our little trip!
It's my very first BIRCH BOX!!!!
So here's what I found inside:

From Left to Right: Orofluido Beauty Elixir, Color Club Nail Lacquer in Age of Aquarius, and Annick Goutal Eau d'Harien
So far, I have yet to use the first two products, but the perfume went on immediately. I thought to myself as i put it on that i felt like a little girl, once again. This was a great feeling after having just turned 32! (BTW I remember being given perfume samples when i was a little girl)
My Lifestyle Extra  is Tea Forte skin smart teas. These will be yummy! And will make my skin RADIANT! (Oh boy the kiddos  will think i am glowing! No, people, its just the tea!
I cannot wait to try these! Maybe this Saturday when the rain is said to come! A review to come for sure!

Top to bottom: One Love Organics Skin Savior Waterless Beauty Balm & Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint
So I have yet to use the tint, but the little tub of beauty balm smells great and seems so versatile. I am trying not to fall in love with it as one full size container is a bit costly! On the flip side I am really good at making things like this last!

Did you get a Birchbox this month? Is there a product you love already? Did we get anything that is the same?
So good to be back!

It's All About the Lemon

Hope you're having a fabulous Saturday!

So, today i thought i would share a little trick (or 2!) that was shared with me when i was dieting quite a bit! (I lost 52 lbs in about 2 months and now have determined i should be about 15 lbs lighter than what i am today rather than as light as i had gotten! I couldn't maintain that low a weight!) Any who, one thing i did was to try and help with water retention. I learned that if you are sore, you are probably retaining water. I also learned that if you gain a couple pounds it could be because you are retaining water. Also, ladies, that time of the month can bring about water retention. Salt can also be another factor.

So with all of this opportunity for our bodies to retain water, we could also take measures to relieve some of it!
Firstly, we need to drink plenty of water!
I know this sounds a bit counter-intuitive but when you drink plenty of water it can flush out all of that salt that is helping your body retain water! I know this may not be a very technical explanation, but it is what it is! You have read how much you need to drink on a daily basis before... that is not the point of this post. My point is to offer some other options...

So here are some alternatives...
1. Sassy water- I love this stuff but truly I love it more without the ginger in the recipe! I do not enjoy ginger and tend to skip this ingredient any time i cook. So I found a recipe (through Pinterest of course!) and made it a few times. Here's my recipe:

What you'll need:
1 thinly sliced cucumber
2-3 lemons thinly sliced
5-6 sprigs of mint leaves
At least 1 gallon of water

Directions: Find a large pitcher and put all ingredients into the pitcher. Soak in the pitcher overnight, or even all week. (i usually have about 1-20 oz bottle each day for 4-5 days) Then I add a packet of sugar free lemonade to that bottle of Sassy water to help with the flavor! It tastes pretty good, but remember this is not about the taste, its about the WATER!
HINT: Use the slicer in your food processor to make this recipe in the blink of an eye!

2. The next option also includes lemon! Yum! So, here's one that only requires about 1 cup of water. The instructions are below for yummy
Lemon Water Tea

What you'll need:
1/4 lemon
1 cup water
Any tea (Enough for 1 cup of tea)

Directions: Using a small pot, boil the water. Once there is a rolling boil, place the lemon into the pot and let water and lemon boil togeher for 3-5 minutes. Remove the lemon and use the water to make your tea. You can add ice and make it iced or just a a tea bag for a hot cup of tea on a cold night! Do this every night for 2-3 nights (and no more - to avoid dehydration!) and you may see an improvement! This is a great remedy for when you are sore as well! (By the way, you don't have to drink it as a tea, you could just drink straight lemon water! Also, feel free to squeeze the lemon, but you don't need to consume the peel! :))

So there are my Water retention remedies! I hope you give them a try! Let me know if you do!
