Friendship is...

Friendship is...

... someone who stands next to you in good times and in bad.
...a person you can count on.
...love.
...a person that does not lie to you.
...memories.

...time spent laughing together.
...planning the next trip.
...reminiscing over coffee or drinks.
...wasting a Saturday afternoon together.
...understanding one another.
...being excited for what life may bring to both of you.
...watching out for your friend.
...helping out whenever needed.
...sharing a meal together.
...enjoying each other's company.
...not being able to wait for the weekend to spend time together.
...mutual interests.
...filled with compliments.
...admiration.
...hopeful.
...open and giving.
...honest.
...ready for any bend in the road that may come.
...someone who helps you move.
...a person you can call when you need to vent.
...trusted.
...one who makes the effort to keep in touch.
...someone who checks in on you.
... making sure you text when you get home.
...communicating your feelings.
...sometimes strong in an argument or disagreement.
...worth fighting for.

H54F 2.24.13

Whew! What a week this has been! Between sickness hitting our household and then the craziness that work and life can bring, it sure does feel like this week was a whirlwind! Oh boy!

So, here are my high fives for the week!
|one|
Get well notes from my kiddos. When i called out sick on Tuesday, the therapist that works with my students ditched her original plan for my kiddos and kindly had the kids think about their teacher. They all wrote get well soon notes to me. I got pictures, stickers, notes and so much love from them!On Wednesday morning when i got to work, still feeling crummy, I was so touched to read the motes and look at everything from the kids! It meant a lot! (It has been soooooo crazy since Wednesday that i keep forgetting to take a picture of thier notes!)

My hubby and i have done so well on our diet! Woo Hoo for Carb Cycling! I will be writing a whole post on this but it hs been great thus far! i love that we are both committed to it and that we can both encourage ech other

A great weekend planned! Saturday we are headed to some fun times with some good friends and I am way excited about it! More details after the event for sure!

|four|
Loving that my husband wants an earlier bed time lately! Usually he is such a night owl, but we have changed our night owl ways and have been hittin' the hay MUCH earlier. Loving that! Who doesn't love sleep?

Friendship. There have been a select few ladies that have lately really stood out to me in the friend department. Those of you that i talk to on a pretty regular basis, though it may not be everyday, you all mean the world to me. For example, i got a text from a friend who was somewhat familiar with my route to work. When a shooter went nuts the other morning and ended up killing himself in an intersection i pass through everyday, i got a text message from a friend making sure i was ok. Luckily, i called in sick that morning! Others have reached out and trusted me with crucial information, invited me to outings, included me in groups i love and really jsut spent time with me. It means so much! These are all people i want in my life and the life of my hubby for a long time!

dinner out at Mimi's with our life group was great! I know it is hard to meet every week, but truth is, every time we end another season of group, I begin to miss these people! It really is nice to meet with a bunch of people every week! Life can get too busy, but having a group like this truly helps to feel like you have a home base!

Whether it is offering to help us move, stating that they are glad we are in their lives, someone who will listen, someone who will check in with us, or even just taking the time to listen to us. They are really phenomenal people! All of them! We are so glad to have great people in out lives.

That is my High Five for the week... or the last two!

Friends Forever

Here's my tribute to some really great friends....

These are all ladies that i have had stick through so much with me. At this stage in our lives we may not always communicate regularly, but whenever we see each other we pick back up right where we left off! Life and locations can so easily get in the way... but these gals will forever be some of my best friends!

First, here's my sister, Tara:
I am so proud of what she has become! I have always known that she would grow up to be a strong independent woman! We have had our ups and downs, but i love her and know that she would always just want the best for me!

Elena has been my friend since junior high! We both akwardly made our way through highschool together and have been friends ever since. I love this lady! She has become a beautiful woman, wife and mother of 2!

Cindi and Andi are my tall friends! They are sisters and have been there for a lot! We once were neighbors who spent every waking moment together but they moved and we stayed friends! This is not very common seeing as how this all happened when we were all in junior high! They both have such kind hearts and are a blast to be around!

Leah (I couldn't decide which photo!) is a friend who i love dearly! She has guided me through troubles and always had something to laugh about with me! We traveled together in college and we clicked so quickly! She is so kind, forgiving, and patient! Great qualities of another wife and mother who i admire!
Liz and i have had some great memories together! this girl always knows how to show me a good time and I love how she has taught me to just enjoy life in a new way! She never seems to be worried or stressed and though i know she has had her share of struggles, i admire how fearless she is and how she takes everything in stride!

So, these are all my girlfriends. I have grown up with these ladies! Each of them have touched my life in so many ways! They have been around and they know me so well. I truly love them! But i cannot ignore my best friend. My husband. I now this sounds cheesy and a little cliche, but he truly is my best friend. I tell him everything and often cannot wait to hear from him! He encourages me and helps me to see my flaws so that i can work on them. He is a strong man who worships me in so many ways! He leads me and i cannot wait for what is to come with this man!

Dear Simone,

Linking up once again with Jessica at Lovely Little Things. This week's task is to write a letter to my younger self!

Lovely Little Things

There are so many things I could tell you! Let me begin by telling you that all you hard work playing teacher will one day pay off! It may not be a dream now but one day you will see how much joy teaching can bring you.

Be sure to cherish your loved ones! They are truly your biggest motivators. You mom will be your hero forever and your sister, though younger than you, will be someone you look up to constantly. You will grow up into a lovely woman because of both of them and the people who surrounded your family!

Never forget how influential a great group of friends can be. The group of friends you make throughout your life deserves your time, effort, and energy. They love you and will teach you more that you know about friendship! They will also encourage & protect you. You will have so many memories! These moments you share with your friends and family are to be cherished. Consider yourself blessed and never think that you lack even an ounce of people who care for you.

You will not spend your life alone. In fact, you will find the one you love in a not so typical way, but rather a modern way! He will love you even on the first date and find you beautiful in so many different ways. He will be a great leader for you and your family. Make sure to take in all the good times with him. He will like to remind you of that! Be sure to listen to him because he is right often (especially when it comes to creating memories)! Just know that your love for him will grow so much that you may feel as though you will burst into tears or that your heart will explode!

Don't be afraid to do something that challenges you! It will give you more opportunities and life lessons that you can use later in life. It seems so lazy to do things the easy way anyway. When u take on those challenges, make sure to do them wholeheartedly and look back on surviving them with pride! Don't critique your mistakes that came along the way!

People will see a strong and independent person who loves. Just be sure to show that at all times. Also, be sure to real. Never be afraid to say that you need help, have a weakness, or that something might be too much! Your life is not worth the small stuff! But know also, that you can handle quite a bit!

Above all else know that you are saved. Know that our Lord came to save you and he loves you more than any one of these people ever could. He knows everything about you and seeks after you in this great romance called life. He knows your heart and only longs for your love in return. Defend the faith that you have and stand firm on Jesus.
