H54F/ Top 5 7.20.12

After Thursday afternoon's craziness and so much fun with playing bunco and having a fun time with my book club, I am more than happy to share my H54F/Top 5! 

This week has been filled with a few highs... FOR SURE!

Fireworks and Food Trucks

The Great Park had their anniversary celebration last weekend and they celebrated with live music (a U2 cover band that only made me want the real thing), fireworks and food trucks! This was a fun evening for hubs and I! 

I visited he lime truck and hubs found some bratwurst! So sad we missed Chuck and Chip! they rn out of cookies! Sad face!

Shopping

Lots of this occurred last week. I visited a few stores and definitely made out like a bandit at Old Navy!  Here are a few items that i managed to take home!

NEW Toms! 

That's right.... I finally did it! Here's what mine look like! I know, they're not patterned! I will be getting  pair of patterned ones sometime soon, but for the time being i wanted comfy shoes for the cruise ... these were available and so i scooped them up!

Breakfast at Flappy Jack's

I am so excited about this new breakfast spot! I think hubs is already craving a second visit!

Time With the Girls

I got to spend time with ladies two nights this week! The first was a surprise night out to play bunco! This was my first time and I had so much fun playing this game! The best part: I won! So cool! 

The second night out with the girls was for book club! We visited a place called The Bruery and I fell in love with this spot! Great beer, light eats, wine and a new patio area (or so my friends told me!)

K I will be back when my computer doesn't stink! 

Top & High Five 7.13.12

Back to the regular Friday routine!

It was kind of a slow week, so this week was hard to figure out my top five!

An Angels Baseball Game Birthday Celebration was just what I needed! I had a great time celebrating how many years young my friend Jami is! Happy birthday girl!

A trip to bowers kidseum with my class was a fun time to learn in a hands on way!

A shopping trip with a gal pal and linner at chipotle! This sure was fun to hang out and just getaway from an afternoon at work!

A couple dresses that are still being considered!
The one on the bottom is my favorite of the whole shopping trip!

Cleaned out my closet a bit! I figured out how many pants do and don't fit and realized I have room in my closet! Time to shop!

Fruit salsa success!

I do not have pictures of my version but please go here and get the recipe! It was delicious! I promise it will not disappoint!

High Five Up Top 6.29.12

Its time for a High Five and Top Five events of this week!

We had dinner with my mom down at the beach at a lace called The Cottage! Hubs wasn't going to be able to make it and his appointment got postponed! Wahhooo! I love this spot. It's a restaurant in an old historic house and i love all the cute little touches! The iced tea wasn't bad either!

New bathing suit top- looks like this:

But it is this color:

And i am wearing the top with black bottoms that are a similar cut to these bottoms above! 

(Turns out they are cutting the bottoms a little bit different and i would rather mix and match than just match than wear the bottoms you see above! There were less than flattering!)

So, I don't have any pictures of this, but i have been wearing dresses a lot lately! they are so comfortable! I just wish i could wear them to work too! Someday maybe? Here's one at Target that i have had my eye on:

My book club meets tonight and we are trying out a new restaurant! (Its even fun to eat out while on a diet! A new place means a different variation of a salad! (Sounds boring, but right now anything different just flat out rocks!)

A BBQ with our life group was fun and it was great to meet up in a differnet spot! Thanks to our co-leaders for hosting! It was a fun highlight in our week!

High Five + Top Five 6.22.12

This week sure did seem to fly by! Maybe its cause i have my eye on the prize... the weekend!!!

So here are my Top 5 and High Five highlights of th week:

So a couple weeks ago I asked my hair stylist (Hi Claire!) what shampoo I should invest in. I was looking for change! I am ashamed to admit it but I was still using cheap Aussie hair care products! What was I thinking?!?! The lovely Claire suggested Redken All Soft. Who knew I was in for such a treat! I love this stuff. I found it at Ulta for about $25 for the big bottle! I'm in love!

Saturday was filled with back to back events but we capped off the day with trip to see a new band at a bar that I had heard about but never been to! We stopped in to Hennessy's to see the Galway Hooker Band. (FYI they named their band after an Irish fishing boat! Ha!) These guys were pretty lively and we had a good time listening to the Irish rock! So fun! The company wasn't too bad either! (Another good part was that they served diet coke! Very diet friendly!)

The countdown to Alaska has begun! As of today, we leave in 4 weeks and 5days! Can.not.wait! It's sooooo not too early to count down!

This weekend Jami and I have what I have dubbed a "blogging sesh" scheduled! I cannot wait to plan with this gal! I am sure we can come up with some great stuff! We even have hopes to plan a meet up for so cal bloggers! Boy, that would be great!

Wednesday is the day my classroom is assigned to take field trips for the summer. This week we went to Centennial Farms at the Orange County Fairgrounds! It was soooooo fun! We got to see a cow milking demonstration, goats, chicks, a peacock, and roosters along with a bunch of different crops that they grow! We even got to see the pregnant pigs! I am so excited to see their little piggies when they are born just in time for the fair!
